NFL refutes NY Daily News' Tom Brady Deflategate headline image

The NFL is calling out the New York Daily News for what it calls a "misleading" headline on writer Gary Myers' story concerning Tom Brady and Deflategate.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said that the league has yet to reach a decision on a punishment (if any) for Brady's role in allegedly deflating footballs during the Patriots' AFC Championship game against the Colts, and that the Daily News' headline — "Tom Brady will be suspended by Roger Goodell for role in DeflateGate, announcement expected next week" — was wrong.

“It is Gary Myers’ prediction,” Aiello wrote in an e-mail to Boston.com. “The headline is misleading.”

Aiello said the headline implied that a decision on any punishment had been made, and at this point “no decisions have been made.”
