NFL Combine 2015: Amari Cooper, Kevin White, Sammie Coates bring serious speed image

The 2015 NFL Draft wide receiver class has a tough act to follow given historic success from the 2014 class. There's a constant need for speed at the position in what's become such a passing league, and this year's group features plenty jets.

Amari Cooper is widely recognized as the cream of the WR crop, and he didn't disappoint during Saturday's receiver, running back and quarterback on-field drills at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

Cooper, whose game speed isn't a concern, ran an impressive 4.42 40-yard dash. Sammie Coates of Auburn, who's slightly bigger than his Alabama rival, posted a similar 4.43. Those times represent physical freaks, given the two prospects' similar, 212-pound frames.

UAB's J.J. Nelson as expected ran the quickest 40 among receivers. But his 4.29 failed to match Combine record-holder Chris Johnson, who ran a 4.24 in 2008.

West Virginia star Kevin White's time of 4.35 was ridiculous given his size (6-2, 215). Georgia's Chris Conley, a reletively off-the-radar prospect, matched White's 4.35 to bring his name a little more recognition. Miami's Phillip Dorsett as expected was one of the quicker receivers with his 4.33 flash.

Here are the unofficial recorded 40 times  for the WR prospects at the Combine.
