Giants add two more to revamped coaching staff image

New York Giants head coach Pat Shurmur has added two more members to his coaching staff.

A source tells Sporting News that Deshea Townsend is being hired as assistant defensive backs coach and Ben Wilkerson is being named assistant offensive line coach for the Giants.

Townsend, 42, served as the Titans' defensive backs coach the past two seasons. He branched into coaching after a 13-year NFL career that included 12 seasons as a Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back.

Wilkerson, 35, was Chicago’s assistant offensive line coach the past three seasons. A standout at LSU, Wilkerson spent four seasons in the NFL as an offensive lineman with the Bengals (2005 to 2006) and Falcons (2007 to 2008).
