Najee Harris discusses surviving cold weather following Steelers' win over Raiders image

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris, a California native, is just getting used to frigid temperatures. The Steelers' game against the Raiders on Christmas Eve, the second-coldest game in Pittsburgh history, didn’t seem to bother him.

Harris played in one of many games across America where temperatures were freezing. In fact, practice was shut down for various teams leading up to this weekend.

Some players displayed their toughness in the cold. The Seahawks' DK Metcalf warmed up shirtless before his game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The weather in Kansas City was below 10 degrees.

Harris joined the NFL Gameday broadcast team following the Steelers' 13-10 win to discuss his strategy for preparing for the bad weather.

“Hey man, it’s a mentality thing,” Harris stated. “You saw people walking out with their shirts off? Oh, hell nah. What I did… I was practicing the whole pre-week. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday we knew it was going to be snowing out here. I kind of practiced as much as I could with less clothes, so I could mentally get right. I tried to stay warm as much as possible. Pre-game, I tried to get a feel for it. This was one of those games where you just have to... Ain’t no way we’re getting over this coldness. You got to tough it out.”

Harris had 53 yards on 16 carries and caught six passes for 42 yards. He made several key plays in the Steelers' game-winning drive.
