Rodney Harrison blasts Marshawn Lynch for wasting voice, opportunity image

Many NFL players, active and former, have voiced support for Marshawn Lynch, agreeing that the Seattle running back's obligation to speak with media is silly; Lynch shouldn't be forced to talk.

Rodney Harrison begs to differ. The former Patriots safety expressed his opinion Tuesday on The Dan Patrick Show. Let's just say he's not amused by Lynch's act.

"For years, black people didn't have a voice in this world," Harrison explained. "And you finally have an opportunity to have a voice and you make a mockery out of it like it's a joke. I don't agree with it. I don't like it."

Harrison, a 42-year-old analyst at NBC, has never been afraid to share his thoughts. Citing racial struggles, he's bothered by the amount of support the Seattle running back receives.

"We've worked hard to try to get educated," Harrison said. "He has an opportunity that a lot of young African-American kids look up to. And when they see him acting like that and people applaud it … it's not right."

Harrison also argued that Lynch indeed is contractually obligated to entertain questions, calling the 28-year-old "selfish" and "immature."

"When you sign up to play in the National Football League, part of your responsibility is to be able to communicate with the media so your fans can hear you," he said. The full interview can be seen below.

Lynch's Seahawks take on Harrison's former team Sunday at 6:30 p.m. for all the marbles.
