Mark Andrews injury update: Ravens TE ruled out for remainder of 'TNF' after hurting ankle vs. Bengals image

The Ravens are no strangers to operating through injuries, and Baltimore may have to navigate the rest of "Thursday Night Football" without Lamar Jackson's favorite weapon.

Baltimore tight end Mark Andrews suffered an ankle injury on the Ravens' opening drive against the Bengals on Thursday. He was hurt on a tackle near the goal line, stayed down on the field for a bit before eventually walking off. Andrews was seen limping on the sidelines before eventually heading to the locker room.

After leading the Ravens in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns the last two seasons, Andrews has put together another strong showing in 2023. Entering the Week 10 matchup, the Pro-Bowl tight end is second on the team in receptions (43) and receiving yards (481), while he leads all Baltimore receivers in touchdown receptions (six).

Among all tight ends in the NFL, Andrews is third in receptions, fourth in receiving yards and first in touchdown receptions.

Mark Andrews injury update

Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Thursday night that Mark Andrews suffered what is believed to be a season-ending ankle injury against the Bengals.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Friday that Andrews had a cracked fibula and ankle ligament injury, confirming that it will be a long-term injury for the star tight end.

Andrews was hurt on a tackle by Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson during the Ravens' opening drive on Thursday night. On first-and-10 at the Cincinnati 13-yard line, Jackson completed a nine-yard pass to Andrews, bringing the Ravens close to the end zone.

As Wilson wrapped up the tight end, he dropped his hip, causing Andrews' ankle to roll up underneath the Bengals linebacker. Andrews tried to get up, but stayed down on the field before the training staff came out to see him.

Two plays later, Gus Edwards punched in a three-yard run to open the scoring. Andrews stayed on the sidelines, walking gingerly with the trainers.

Prime Video's Kaylee Hartung reported that Andrews is undergoing x-rays on the ankle and is on crutches. He was unable to put any weight on the ankle. After initially being listed as questionable to return, Andrews was ruled out late in the first quarter.

At the time of his exit, Andrews had brought in both his targets for 23 yards. With the starting tight end sidelined for the time being, Isaiah Likely should see an increase in snaps at the position.
