Madden 23 team ratings: The best and worst NFL teams to play with, listed by overall rating image

A pair of teams that enter the 2022 NFL season as Super Bowl favorites lead the "Madden NFL 23" overall team ratings, while the two teams that played in last season's Super Bowl find themselves inside the top 10.

There are certainly going to be a few surprises. The Chiefs are not the highest-rated AFC West team, and the Bengals aren't No. 1 in the North. The Raiders have one of the few members of the 99 Club, but are ranked in the middle of the field. The Titans had the No. 1 seed in the AFC a season ago, and are ranked in the bottom half of the Madden 23 rankings.

Here is a look at how all the NFL teams sit entering the 2022 season in terms of Madden's overall ratings for the latest edition of its video game franchise. These ratings will change as EA Sports continues to update players and teams.

Madden 23 team ratings

The top teams in the Madden 23 overall ratings likely won't come as much of a surprise. It's two of the Super Bowl 57 favorites in the Buccaneers and Bills leading the field, with the Super Bowl 56 champion Rams at third. Despite losing star receiver Davante Adams, the Packers are at No. 4, while the Ravens, coming off an injury-plagued 2021, and the Chargers, who made major offseason improvements, are tied at No. 5. The Bills are the only team in the field ranked in the top three for both offense and defense.

Other notable rankings include the Chiefs, 49ers and Cowboys coming in at No. 6, and the reigning AFC champion Bengals tied with the Eagles rounding out the top 10.

There are five teams that look like ones to avoid. The Texans are the worst team in the game, with the Giants coming in just one point ahead of them overall. The Seahawks rank third-worst, while the Jaguars and Falcons are tied for the fourth-worst teams.
