Brandon Magee is joining the Red Sox for spring training, a day after being cut by the Buccaneers, but the linebacker is remains committed to playing in the NFL.

“While he does attend spring training for a few weeks up until the beginning of the NFL offseason program, he is 100 percent fully committed to playing in the NFL," Magee's agent, Blake Baratz, told ProFootballTalk.com.

The two-sport star at Arizona State signed with Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2013, and was a member of the Browns and Bucs in 2014. 

Magee appeared in nine games for the Buccaneers, contributing nine tackles on special teams and one stop on defense.

On the baseball side, the 24-year-old was selected by the Rays in the 29th round of the 2008 amateur draft out of high school, then by the Red Sox in the 23rd round in 2012 out of ASU. He later signed with the Red Sox and attended spring training last year, according to FOX Sports.
