Report: Lance Briggs will not be offered contract with Bears image

Lance Briggs' career with the Bears is apparently coming to an end after CSN Chicago reported the seven-time Pro Bowl linebacker will not be offered a contract for 2015.

Briggs was drafted by the Bears in 2003. Until 2012, he had only missed four games with the franchise, the only team he's played for in the NFL. Briggs suffered season-ending injuries for the 2013 and 2014 seasons.

The report said Lovie Smith and the Bucs are expected to offer Briggs a contract. Smith coached the Bears from 2004-12.

It's the latest sign of potential overhaul in Chicago. The Bears are reportedly shopping receiver Brandon Marshall for a trade. Quarterback Jay Cutler's status is still uncertain, as well.
