Report: Falcons to hire Kyle Shanahan as offensive coordinator image

Though the Falcons are still without a head coach, they're one step closer to finalizing their staff.

The Falcons are reportedly taking on Kyle Shanahan as offensive coordinator in a package deal with Dan Quinn as head coach. Shanahan, who left the same position in Cleveland, will be hired in Atlanta, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Quinn has been Atlanta's primary head coaching target, but the Falcons can't actively pursue the Seahawks defensive coordinator until after Super Bowl XLIX.

Shanahan parted ways with the Browns after one year. He was reportedly at odds with the front office about his play calling and the handling of rookie QB Johnny Manziel.
