Josh Sweat injury update: Eagles edge rusher taken to hospital after scary collision vs. Saints image

The Eagles will be without one of their rising stars for the rest of Week 17.

Philadelphia edge rusher Josh Sweat was injured early in the Eagles' matchup vs. the Saints, suffering a neck injury that forced him onto a cart and out of the game.

In a scary injury, Sweat seemed to collide head-first with Saints fullback Adam Prentice. Eagles teammates and Saints players surrounded him following the injury.

On a positive note, Sweat was moving his arms and legs following the hit. Still, he was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. He was, obviously, ruled out of the game.

The Eagles reported that Sweat has movement in all of his extremities.

The Eagles defensive lineman is enjoying a breakout season, notching 13 sacks entering the Sunday matchup vs. New Orleans.

In his stead, the Eagles turn to Brandon Graham, Haason Reddick, Patrick Johnson and Kyron Johnson to round out the edge group rotation. Philadelphia was without starting quarterback Jalen Hurts entering the matchup, as well.
