Josh Rosen has been linked to the Redskins in recent weeks as speculation around the Cardinals quarterback's future continues, however, it doesn't appear Washington is interested in making a trade.
NFL Network reported Wednesday that the Redskins have done their homework by trying to figure out what the Cardinals' price would be, but "they're not actively chasing him."
The report adds there hasn't been a "hard offer on the table" because "they're still going through the motions" with the players in the draft. Additionally, Washington hasn't made a firm decision on whether it plans to draft a quarterback or go the Rosen route.
The Redskins already traded for veteran quarterback Case Keenum last month to help fill the void Alex Smith left last season when he suffered a devastating leg injury. Washington reportedly believes he will not be ready to play in 2019.
Rosen's future with the Arizona has been highly speculated about this offseason as the draft nears. The belief by many is that the Cardinals will select Kyler Murray with the top pick and then trade Rosen.
Bleacher Report indicated earlier this month that the Cardinals have already received two offers for Rosen, but according to the report, they want to "save face" and get as close to a first-round pick as possible.
Coach Kliff Kingsbury has remained positive about Rosen's fit with Arizona, reiterating numerous times that the 22-year-old quarterback is still the leader of his team.
"People have said a lot of things that are misconceptions, if you will," Kingsbury said last month, per SNY. "Josh is a tremendous player, I've always thought, watching him at UCLA. He played his best football in a spread system, some similarities to what we do. He's a tremendous thinker, very cerebral, can throw it with anybody."
The Cardinals finished 2018 with a league-worst 3-13 record, missing the playoffs for a third straight season. Rosen, selected with the 10th overall pick in the 2018 draft, struggled during his rookie season as he completed 55.2 percent of his passes for 2,278 yards. He threw for 11 touchdowns with 14 interceptions in 14 games.
