CLEVELAND — Josh McCown left the Browns' game against the Ravens on Sunday with a shoulder injury, but returned in time for Cleveland's next possession.

McCown, who threw two TDs in the first quarter to give Cleveland a 20-2 lead, might have been injured when Timmy Jernigan hit him on a third-down play before the second TD pass. McCown also was hit by Jernigan on the previous drive on a 31-yard TD pass to Corey Coleman.

McCown, who returned to the sideline after being checked in the locker room, replaced Robert Griffin III this week after the Browns' opening-week starter suffered a shoulder injury and was placed on injured reserve. RGIII could miss up to 12 weeks.

If McCown continues to have problems and cannot continue, then third-round pick Cody Kessler would be next in line for Cleveland.
