Freeman began his career as the quarterback of the future for the Buccaneers after being selected 17th overall in the 2009 NFL Draft. He had an inconsistent four years before being cut after a rift developed between he and then-Bucs coach Greg Schiano.
The 27-year-old was later picked up by the Vikings and named the starter — for one game. Freeman was then acquired by the Giants early in 2014, but was cut prior to minicamp and sat out the rest of the season.
Freeman has a career quarterback rating of 77.8, having thrown for 80 touchdowns and 67 interceptions while completing just under 58 percent of his passes.
