Johnny Manziel is likely to be discharged from rehab soon, possibly as early as next week, according to The Plain Dealer in Cleveland.

The Browns' second-year quarterback took a break from treatment Saturday and spent his morning playing golf with his father in Shreveport, La. He is still believed to be in inpatient care, the report said, where he has been receiving care for personal issues since January. But conditions of Manziel's treatment allow for him to spend some days outside his rehab facility with friends and family.

ESPN reported March 24 that the Browns expect Manziel to be present for preseason workouts with the team, which begin April 20.

"I don't think it's in doubt," Browns general manager Ray Farmer said during NFL owners' meetings last week. "Again, I'm not the point person in that. So I would defer to those kind of controlling his care and let them decide what that looks likes."

If Manziel completes his treatment by then, he will have spent more than two months in rehab. He admitted himself January 28 to become "a better family member, friend and teammate."
