The Broncos have reportedly identified the top target in their search for a head coach. The question is whether he wants to lead another franchise.

Current Baltimore offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak is Denver’s top choice, according to the Denver Post. Broncos GM John Elway informed Ravens officials on Wednesday night that he’s interested in talking to the former Texans head coach.

Elway’s inquiry comes on the heels of Kubiak’s announcement last week that he would remain with the Ravens in 2015. The Broncos are searching for a replacement for John Fox after parting ways with him Monday

The Broncos could be hoping that Kubiak’s familiarity with the team and the area will change his tune. Kubiak backed up Elway from 1983-1991, then served as the franchise’s offensive coordinator from 1995-2005 before taking the job at Houston.

Kubiak went 61-64 with the Texans.

Other candidates for the job include Bengals defensive backs coach Vance Joseph, Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase and Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin.
