Former Rams tackle Joe Barksdale set to join Chargers image

Former Raiders and Rams tackle Joe Barksdale has agreed to terms with the Chargers on a one-year contract, the team announced Tuesday. Yahoo! Sports was the first to report the news.

Barksdale, a third-round pick out of LSU by the Raiders in 2011, was released by Oakland a year later. He joined the Rams and developed into a solid starter in St. Louis, starting 31 games in three seasons, including all 16 last year at right tackle.

After the Rams selected Wisconsin tackle Rob Havenstein in the second round of the 2015 draft, Barksdale's return to St. Louis became doubtful.

Barksdale has already added "San Diego Charger" to his Twitter bio. The 6-5, 326-pound Detroit native will make the veteran minimum of $350,000 with another $1 million in incentives, according to NFL Network.

Barksdale is the sixth offensive lineman the Chargers have signed this offseason, joining King Dunlap, Orlando Franklin, Trevor Robinson, Michael Huey and Chris Hairston.
