Don't think Michigan has forgotten Jim Harbaugh. Its pursuit of the former Wolverines quarterback is reaching the boiling point.
With the San Francisco 49ers playing their final game of the 2014 NFL season, Michigan will have representatives in the Bay Area. Harbaugh's team faces the Arizona Cardinals at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., on Sunday. Kickoff is 4:25 p.m. ET.
Questions are:
— Will the 49ers kick Harbaugh out as coach?
— Will Michigan be the only team in pursuit of Harbaugh?
Indications are strong that Harbaugh has worn out his welcome with the Niners. They entered Sunday's game 7-8, but the team's relationship with its coach has soured.

Harbaugh has a massive offer on the table to return to his alma mater, reportedly for six years and $48 million.
If Harbaugh does get his walking papers, the New York Jets reportedly are interested. SN's David Steele pegs Harbaugh among the 10 most likely coaches the Jets will seek when, as expected, Rex Ryan is fired.

However, Harbaugh has another year on his contract. Observers suggest the Niners want compensation from any NFL team seeking his services.
The Oakland Raiders and Chicago Bears also are believed interested in Harbaugh. And Harbaugh's interest in remaining in the NFL is well known. He was a Raiders assistant early in his career, and he played for the Bears.
According to NFL.com, Harbaugh was expected to meet with Michigan officials, including interim athletic director Jim Hackett, following Sunday's game.
Reports say family members are pushing Harbaugh toward Michigan, although brother John Harbaugh has denied that suggestion. And when pressed by reporters on Friday, Harbaugh refused to address reports of his possible departure.
Wolverines fans are ravenous for information about Harbaugh, according to MLive.com. If nothing else, that is seen as a sign Michigan would go nuts over having Harbaugh take over the program. Former Michigan players are among the legion urging Harbaugh to come to Ann Arbor.
Michigan reportedly has alternatives if Harbaugh spurns the school. It's more likely he will not.
