The Rams' return to Los Angeles is off to a rough start with a dismal 4-9 record, sparse attendance and a "middle school offense," according to running back Todd Gurley.
And now with no head coach — Jeff Fisher was fired on Dec. 12 after five seasons with the Rams — the coaching rumor mill has heated up.

During a recent interview with Colin Cowherd, MMQB's Albert Breer mentioned the Rams could hire Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh to be their next coach.
"By the way, Albert Breer on the way out said that Jim Harbaugh to the Rams rumor is a very real thing," Cowherd said at the end of Breer's segment.
Whoa. A "very real thing" as in the rumor is out there? Or "very real thing" that the Rams are actually trying to persuade Harbaugh to leave the comforts of his alma mater for a return to the NFL?
There's a big difference between the two, but one thing is certain: Harbaugh has the star power and proven success in the NFL to help the Rams.
Money isn't an issue for Rams owner Stan Kroenke and neither is leaving a job for Harbaugh, who as never spent more than four seasons with one team in 12 years as a head coach.
Harbaugh is 20-5 at Michigan, but Breer clarified that Wolverines fan shouldn't be worried about Harbaugh's departure — yet.
To be clear ... I never said Harbaugh was going anywhere. I believe he'll eventually be back in the NFL. Until then, teams will pursue him. https://t.co/f67iLlwmSo

Harbaugh went 44-19-1 in four seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, but a bumpy relationship with his general manager — much like what Fisher reportedly is dealing with — led to Harbaugh parting ways with the 49ers after the 2014 season.
