The Dolphins flexed their might against a weary Jets squad, overcoming a pair of ill-timed Tua Tagovailoa interceptions to coast past New York, 34-13.
Tyreek Hill had 102 yards on nine catches, including a touchdown, and Raheem Mostert had 94 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 20 carries for the Dolphins, who improved to 8-3.
Tim Boyle, who replaced Zach Wilson as Jets QB, was 27-for-38 for 179 yards with 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions.
One of Boyle's interceptions was a stunning pick-six on a Hail Mary attempt just before halftime. Jevon Holland intercepted the long pass at the Dolphins 1-yard-line, and returned it 99 yards through the Jets' offense to score on the final play of the second quarter to give Miami a 17-6 lead at the break.
The inaugural Black Friday matchup pitted a pair of AFC East foes against one another.
And although the clash lost some of its luster given the vortex that has come to define the Jets' quarterback play in 2023, that Gang Green defense is always capable of keeping things close.
Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle's duel with Sauce Gardner and D.J. Reed was worth front-row seats. Ultimately, though, it was Hill who reigned supreme, sauntering beyond his opposition markers to offer a continual outlet for Tagovailoa.
On the game's opening drive, Hill sprung beyond Reed for 35 yards. And even after being temporarily felled by a knee injury, Hill never strayed too far from the sun, underlining his MVP credentials against one of the league's true lockdown defenses. Waddle added eight grabs for 114 yards.
The Fins' offense wasn't perfect, not by any means. Tagovailoa continued his trend of turning the ball over, firing off two picks in quick succession, one of which resulted in a Jets touchdown.

Robert Saleh's team showed signs of life at times. But matched up against the speed and fluidity of that Fins offense, it just wasn't enough. And it's making a postseason push look all the more unlikely at the moment. That is, unless Aaron Rodgers makes a miraculous return from his torn Achilles.

6:00 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! And it is! The Fins add yet another touchdown to make the score that much more crooked. Mostert bursts around the bend for a 34-yard punctuation mark!

5:50 p.m.: The Dolphins' get their mitts on Thomas Morstead's onside kick! This game could very well be on ice.
5:45 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! At long last, the Jets touchdown breaks through! Boyle hits Garrett Wilson on the goal line and New York’s offense finally find pay dirt! Might be too little, too late, however!

5:20 p.m.: Couple fourth down conversions gives the Jets life. Boyle showcasing some signs of liveliness as New York inches down the field.
5:10 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Mostert caps off the Fins' lengthy drive in style, frolicking to pay dirt from 13 yards out. A bit of hysterics in the post-game, with Micheal Clemons landing a clean shot on the referee after getting into it with Dolphins tackle Austin Jackson. Both players receive their walking orders after the ordeal, with the referee spilling cherry-red syrup atop the turf shortly thereafter.

Dolphins 27, Jets 6
End of third quarter: Dolphins 20, Jets 6
5:05 p.m.: Hill slips beyond Reed on the slant route, moving the chains. It's his world; we're just living in it.
5:01 p.m.: Frustration continues to mount for the Jets. Mosley grabs a chunk-full of Mostert's face mask, yanking him to the turf on third down. The saga continues for New York; the Jets have been held to just 12 minutes of possession time. By comparison, the Dolphins have racked up 30 minutes worth of ball ownership. Oof.
4:59 p.m.: Mostert adds to the party, piercing through the trenches to pick up the first. Really mature possession here by McDaniel's side, which continues to place blows all over the Jets' defense and its ragged body.
4:57 p.m.: Tyreek Hill is fast. Like really fast. Cheetah races around the edge on the handoff to move the chains. He's up to 83 yards thus far.
4:53 p.m.: Gang Green's offense is looking rather sickly through two quarters and some change. Another three-and-out as Boyle is unable to pick apart this fervent Dolphins rearguard.
4:45 p.m.: FIELD GOAL! Miami's offense picks up right where it left off, adding another three points via Sanders' hulking boot after Tagovailoa and Waddle connected for a lengthy 32-yard gain.
Dolphins 20, Jets 7
End of second quarter: Dolphins 17, Jets 6
4:27 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Jevon Holland rises high to snag Boyle's Hail Mary. He proceeds to carve through New York's weary offense-turned-defense, trotting some 99 yards to the end zone to end the half. If ever there were a play to encapsulate the Jets season in 2023, that was it.

4:25 p.m.: INTERCEPTION! Another baffling throw by Tagovailoa, as Reed picks off Tagovailoa. Boyle will get a chance to show off that supposed cannon of an arm.

4:23 p.m.: Dolphins right back into it, with Tagovailoa completing a trio of passes to bring Miami on the shadow of midfield. Just nine seconds left, though. And the Dolphins have no timeouts. McDaniel is going to have to get creative here, you'd reckon.
4:15 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! The Jets defense comes up trumps! Brandin Echols snatches Tagovailoa's flimsy effort and walks into the end zone from 30 yards out. Turnovers have been a problem for Tua thus far, at least compared to his showcases last year. And the miscue proved costly once more, even as Greg Zuerlein's PAT strays wide.

3:59 p.m.: Boyle is absorbed by Christian Wilkins, who sheds his blocker to bring for the beleaguered QB. It has been a day to forget for the newly-minted Jets starter, who has just 23 yards on five competitions. Ball headed back to the Fins.
3:54 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Who else but Tyreek, who evades a would-be tackler after fielding Tagovailoa's toss to break the seal and maraud into the end zone.

Dolphins 10, Jets 0
3:52 p.m.: Tua whips an awkward-looking — but accurate — touch pass to Jaylen Waddle, picking up 20 yards and bringing the Fins on the cusp of yet another score.
3:49 p.m.: Miami moves the chains courtesy of Tagovailoa's connection with Jeff Wilson Jr. on the check down. McDaniel's offense is beginning to chip away at that menacing Jets front line.
3:46 p.m.: Jets offense hasn't mounted much of anything through 15 minutes. Their defense, however, is giving them a solid chance. Still, Fins are charging; they're into New York territory once more after Mostert races 11 yards for a first down.
End of first quarter: Dolphins 3, Jets 0
3:38 p.m.: Breece Hall can count himself as one lucky man. Dropped Boyle's pitch on first down. And although he scooped it up, he was punished for his lack of focus: the Jets lost six yards on the play.
3:36 p.m.: FIELD GOAL! Sanders opens the scoring with an inch-perfect 38-yarder in the first quarter's waning moments.
Dolphins 3, Jets 0
3:34 p.m.: Jets defense firms up as the Dolphins skip towards their end zone once more. C.J. Mosley bats away Tagovailoa's toss to Durham Smythe on third down. McDaniel will settle for the field goal this time around; Jason Saunders is strutting on the field.
3:30 p.m.: Boyle's reprise comes up empty; New York gives the ball back after gaining minimal yardage on three plays. Miami is back on the prowl.
3:24 p.m.: TURNOVER ON DOWNS! It looked as if Hill had found the end zone on the fade route. But Sauce Gardner swept through the mist as Cheetah attempted to reel the pass in, deflecting it away. Big stop from New York there.

3:21 p.m.: Hill looked right at home on the ensuing play, fielding a screen pass and taking it some 17 yards to breach into the red zone.
3:18 p.m.: Tyreek Hill bursts beyond D.J. Reed and picks up 35 yards on the streak play. However, his leg got caught in the turf as he was brought down, prompting him to limp off the field. Looks like he's back now, after the medical team tended to his knee.
3:11 p.m.: Quinnen Williams extends his tackle for loss streak on the first play from scrimmage, gobbling up Raheem Mostert. Unfortunately for Gang Green, Quinton Jefferson delivers a head butt (or maybe more of a love tap) that draws a 15-yard unnecessary roughness call.
3:06 p.m.: The duality of man for Boyle, who fires an arrow to Jason Brownlee on his first throw of the game, then sails his effort to tight end Jeremy Ruckett wide.
New York's opening drive turns to ashes. Tua and Co. set to trot onto the ballroom.
3:03 p.m.: The ball is kicked off and away we go! Tim Boyle and the Jets will start the dance from their own 25!
2:50 p.m.: Shordy in love with my drip, I get the drip you get drip!!! Mike McDaniel struts into the matchup with one of the best outfits imaginable.
