Jay Cutler could be done with the Chicago Bears for this season, and possibly for good.
The quarterback suffered a shoulder injury in the Bears 22-16 loss to the New York Giants on Saturday that may keep him out for the rest of the season, according to the Chicago Tribune.
The injury reportedly happened at some point in the second half of the team's loss to the Giants. He was sacked four times in the fourth quarter alone.
FANTASY: Week 12 waiver wire tips, pickups
Cutler missed five games earlier this season with a right thumb injury, and may not have made it back on the field with the team if Brian Hoyer hadn't broken his left arm.
He has struggled this year, throwing more interceptions (five) than touchdowns (four) and the team is now just 2-8 on the season. His poor showing combined with the team's overall struggles have led many to speculate that though he's signed through 2020, Cutler could be gone before next season arrives.
Matt Barkley would be next in line to start for the Bears with Hoyer and Connor Shaw already done for the season with injuries.
