The Jacksonville Jaguars have denied reports head coach Doug Marrone will be fired after Sunday's regular-season finale against the Indianapolis Colts.
Marrone's position is thought to be under threat with the team heading into the Colts clash with a 5-10 record and bottom of the AFC South.
An ESPN report suggested Marrone would be dismissed after the game but Jim Woodcock – a spokesman for owner Shad Khan – posted on Twitter that is not the case.
"Reports that Doug Marrone will be dismissed after Sunday's game are 100 per cent incorrect," he wrote.
"Owner Shad Khan will meet with his football staff, which includes coaching and personnel, midweek next week."
In 2017, Marrone's first season in charge, the Jaguars were 10-6 in the regular season and lost the AFC Championship game to the New England Patriots.
