Jalen Hurts injury update: Eagles star QB returns to field after concussion check vs. 49ers image

Things are going from bad to worse for the Eagles on Sunday.

All eyes were on the potential NFC Championship preview between Philadelphia and San Francisco in Week 13, but the 49ers went into Lincoln Financial Field looking for revenge for last year's conference title game.

San Francisco was leading by two touchdowns late in the third quarter when Eagles star QB Jalen Hurts was sandwiched between two 49ers defenders in an awkward tackle, bending his head and neck area.

Hurts was able to walk off the field under his own power but immediately went into the blue medical tent to be evaluated for a concussion. After a few moments in the medical tent, Hurts jogged off the field and into the Eagles' locker room.

Jalen Hurts injury update

Hurts was fighting for extra yards when he was tackled on opposite ends by 49ers LBs Fred Warner and Oren Burks late in the third quarter.

He was able to walk off the field without issue but immediately went into the blue medical tent for standard concussion evaluation protocol.

Once Hurts left the medical tent, the star quarterback jogged straight to the locker room for further evaluation. Backup Marcus Mariota came in for a brief stint, but Hurts quickly ran out of the locker room and back onto the sidelines. He then checked back into the game, signaling that he had passed the NFL's concussion protocol.

Hurts has 235 passing yards, 20 rushing yards and two total touchdowns (one rushing) with the Eagles trailing big late in the fourth quarter.
