For just the second time in his career, Jacob Tamme won't catch passes from Peyton Manning. The Falcons announced their signing of the 30-year-old tight end Thursday morning. Contract details were not immediately disclosed.

Tamme took to Twitter to express his excitement about his opportunity in Atlanta after three seasons in Denver.

Tamme, a seven-year NFL veteran, will likely take over as the team's starting tight end. The only other TE on the roster is Levine Toilolo, who caught 31 passes for 238 yards and two touchdowns in 16 starts last season.

Atlanta has struggled to find a replacement for future Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez, who retired following the 2013 season. Tamme, who spend the first four years of his career with the Colts, produced his best season in 2010 with Indianapolis — 67 receptions for 631 yards and four touchdowns.
