Widespread flooding in the Houston area has put the opening of the Texans' organized team activities on hold.

The team hopes to begin OTAs on Wednesday, ESPN reported, but those plans remain uncertain based on the weather conditions.

Parts of several major freeways and other main roads were submerged Tuesday morning after heavy storms swept through Houston overnight. The National Weather Service's observation site at Hobby Airport recorded 5.89 inches of rain in about seven hours overnight.

The deluge marooned hundreds of fans — and Rockets forward Dwight Howard — at Toyota Center after Houston's win over Golden State on Monday night.
