NFL free agency is underway, and teams aren't wasting time.

The Lions, who lost Ndamukong Suh to the Dolphins, traded a pair of draft picks to the Ravens for defensive tackle Haloti Ngata. Baltimore announced the trade Tuesday.

Ngata was unwilling to renegotiate his $16 million contract with the Ravens, and it's unclear whether the Lions will alter his terms.

Ngata, 31, has long been considered one of the premier run-stuffers in the league. Last year, he recorded 31 tackles, two sacks and two forced fumbles.

The Lions now have somebody to anchor a defensive line that could see all three of its top members from last year move on.
