The Giants' special team struggles continued on Christmas Day. A week after seeing an injured Randy Bullock supplanted by punter Jamie Gillan in New York's Week 15 loss to the Saints, there was another member of Big Blue's special teams that toiled under the bright lights.
This time, it was Gillan himself. The typically reliable punter — affably called the "Scottish Hammer" for his impressive hang time — saw his first two efforts account for just six total net yards.
Gillan came into Monday's clash sporting a groin strain. And although he was healthy enough to take part in New York's Christmas Day festivities, his wobbles have been pronounced. Head coach Brian Daboll has taken notice.
Jamie Gillan definitely struggling. Two bad punts. He's basically jogging off the field with a limp. Was listed on the injury report this week with a groin strain.

Here's what you need to know about the Giants' precarious punting situation, one that could loom large as the season nears its end.
Who is the Giants' punter?
Gillan is New York's go-to punter. In lieu of his struggles, though, they don't have all that many options to rely on.
As is the case with most teams, the Giants are without a backup punter. They've got just one kicker dressed for tonight's game — former Packers standout Mason Crosby.
It remains to be seen if New York would go to Gillan again, especially with him nursing a groin malady.
For what it's worth, the Giants did give Gillan another chance in their final offensive possession of the first half. He delivered a 39-yard punt which landed inside Philadelphia's 20. The play was overturned after Jalen Carter was offside.
With New York now presented with fourth and short, Daboll's squad opted to hand the ball off to Saquon Barkley. He proceeded to get the first down with a 10-yard carry.
