Broncos coach Gary Kubiak will miss Thursday night's game against the Chargers.

Team president John Elway said Monday that Kubiak, who was hospitalized following Sunday's loss to the Falcons with flu-like symptoms, will take time to recover and will not travel with the team to San Diego.

Special teams coordinator Joe DeCamillis will be in charge Thursday night, Elway said.

Kubiak was taken to the hospital via ambulance following Sunday's 23-16 home loss to the Falcons. After numerous tests, he was diagnosed with "a complex migraine condition that caused extreme fatigue and body weakness," the team announced earlier Monday.

Elway told reporters Kubiak would undergo further testing during his break and that the team "didn't give him a chance" to think about coaching Thursday night.

"The doctors said a week. They were firm," Elway said, via the Denver Post.
