Sumlin will provide competiton at quarterback for the Aggies. Sophomore Kyle Allen is the Aggies' returning starter and incoming freshman Kyler Murray decided against entering the Major League Baseball Draft to challenge Allen for the starting position.

Blinn College is where Cam Newton went for a year and a half after his stint at Florida and before his tenure at Auburn.
