The Atlanta Falcons elected to move on from veteran kicker Matt Bryant, it was announced on Wednesday.
Bryant, 43, revealed midweek that the Falcons would not be bringing him back for the next NFL season.
The 2016 Pro Bowler had been with the Falcons since 2009 and he signed a three-year contract extension last offseason.
Despite the decision, Bryant – who made 20 of 21 field goals and 33 of 35 extra points attempts last season – said he will be back for an 18th NFL campaign.

"I was informed last night that the team was moving on from my services," Bryant posted to Twitter on Wednesday. "...It was a[n] honor to be a part of some big moments in this franchise's history. This chapter is now closed.
"I look forward to bringing the success and consistency that I've produced to my next team."

The Falcons later confirmed the roster change.
"Matt Bryant will be remembered as one of the greatest Falcons of all time," Falcons owner Arthur Blank said in a statement.
"He is the leading scorer in the history of the team with 1,122 points and made countless memorable and game-winning kicks.
"His reliability and dependability were unmatched and he has been unflappable in pressure-filled moments. Matt has represented our organisation and city so well on and off the field by living our core values through hundreds of hours of community service.
"He was rightfully recognised as our Walter Payton Man of the Year in both 2013 and 2014. We are deeply grateful for his contributions to the Atlanta Falcons and wish Matt, his wife Melissa and their children all the best in the future."
