The Falcons will kick off training camp without their top target.

Veteran wide receiver Julio Jones does not plan to report to the team on Thursday, NFL Media reported, citing sources informed of the decision.

The report noted that Jones is comfortable sitting out until the preseason begins.

Jones, who also skipped OTAs and mandatory minicamp, is in the second year of a five-year contract worth $71 million.

The Falcons informed Jones last week that they won't rework his contract before the start of the season.

The team assured him it already planned to work out a new deal next summer with the hope he would still show up for training camp, but apparently it wasn't enough.

Jones, 29, appeared in all 16 games for Atlanta last season, catching 88 passes for 1,444 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
