About three hours after McCaffrey said Monday that he will sit out the Sun Bowl, Elliott tweeted that he would do "anything" to play one more game for Ohio State.

On the other side, though, he saw Irish linebacker Jaylon Smith suffer a devastating knee injury that thus far has prevented him from beginning his NFL career with the Cowboys — the team Elliott has starred for as a rookie.
Obviously playing in one last game has worked out fine for Elliott, but not everyone can say the same.
