Tom Coughlin backs Eli Manning after QB's benching by Giants image

Former Giants coach Tom Coughlin voiced his strong support for his former quarterback, Eli Manning, after Manning was benched by Coughlin's successor, Ben McAdoo, on Tuesday.

NOVICK: Giants put Manning out of his misery with benching

Coughlin, now an executive with the Jaguars, told a Jacksonville radio station he was "very upset" to hear Manning would be ceding his starting position to Geno Smith on Sunday in Oakland.

STEELE: McAdoo running out of people to use as shields 

The Jaguars are considered a prime landing spot for Manning if he leaves the Giants following this season.
