Report: 'Mutual interest' between Eagles, Sanchez on new deal image

While many people are interested in which new quarterback the Eagles might sign this offseason, the team looks intent on bringing back a signal-caller from last season.

According to NJ.com's Eliot Shorr-Parks, the Eagles have a “strong mutual interest” in signing Mark Sanchez for the 2015 season.

There has been speculation for much of the offseason over the likelihood of the Eagles trading up in the upcoming NFL Draft to select Oregon quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota.

The Eagles can’t completely control whether or not they can get Mariota, but they can make an effort to sign Sanchez as insurance for their quarterback situation.

The former Jets starter resurrected his career with the Eagles last season, throwing for over 2,400 yards and 14 touchdowns in place of the injured Nick Foles.

Sanchez could start taking calls from teams starting at noon on Saturday.
