All Drue Chrisman wanted to do was highlight what it was like being an NFL free agent as a punter.
The Commanders reportedly aren't having it.
Chrisman, 27, was recently worked out by the Washington football club ahead of the 2024 season. He has been out of a job since August 2023 when he was cut by the Bengals but was hoping to make the Commanders club for this fall.
However, things didn't turn out the way Chrisman hoped for. After spending time with the Commanders, the team ultimately elected not to sign him, sticking with Pro Bowler Tress Way.
That's not the issue at hand. The problem stems from a social media video put out by Chrisman that Washington reportedly isn't too pleased about and wants him to scrub from the internet.
Here is more to know about Chrisman and the video that got him in trouble with the Commanders.

Chrisman is incredibly active on social media. The punter posts videos about his day-to-day life, including what it's like being a free agent in the NFL and what working out for a team looks like.
With Chrisman getting time with Washington, he posted a video on Aug. 18 detailing his experience with the club on Aug. 13. There was nothing malicious in the clip, as Chrisman gave some behind-the-scenes footage of the football, the facilities and what he did for the Commanders in the hopes of making the team.

At the end, it shows a meeting between Chrisman and a member of the Washington staff. The Commanders elected not to sign the punter but thanked him for his time. It's nothing out of the ordinary from videos that the Ohio State product has posted in the past.

With that said, the Commanders reportedly have a problem with it. Chrisman posted a text message he received the same day that said Washington's legal team requested him to take down the video from all platforms.

The original video remains up on Chrisman's social media feeds, so despite the ask from the Commanders, it doesn't appear as though Chrisman went through with it. He posted a follow-up video on Aug. 19 about not editing his videos and jokingly begged users not to tag the Commanders.
It's not exactly clear what the football club had a problem with. While the exchange between Chrisman and the member of the staff may not have thrilled the team, he did not include any of the audio of the conversation. There were two business cards for Pink Zebra moving featured in the clip, which have made multiple appearances in Chrisman's videos, so perhaps the team did not want to come across as though they were endorsing the company.
Regardless, it does not appear as Chrisman is caving to the Commanders' request.
