Following Sunday night's second presidential debate, Republican nominee Donald Trump returned to the campaign trail Monday, this time speaking to a crowd in Ambridge, Pa., a town roughly 20 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.
Trump built up some goodwill with those in attendance by waving the famous Terrible Towel and talking about Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. "We love Big Ben. Big Ben's a friend of mine," Trump said.

If Roethlisberger is indeed Trump's "friend," he should help him work on that towel-waving form.
Trump then kicked off his speech with an insane (and most likely untrue) story about golfing with Roethlisberger. Via Sopan Deb of CBS News:
"We played golf together," Trump said. "He once hit a shot that went dead right into a tree. It was a massive tree like this. The ball hit the tree so hard I swear I said, 'Ben, within two years, that tree is gonna be dead.'
"And you know what? Two years later, I should say this because we have — have a lot of tree lovers here. But two years later, that tree was dead. He's a strong guy and he's a good guy too. Big Ben."
ENGEL: Trump's "locker room talk" worse than any actual locker room
Back in June, Trump said Roethlisberger planned to speak on his behalf at the Republican convention. Roethlisberger quickly denied the claim, saying he was "staying out of politics and will not attend the GOP event."
It wouldn't be surprising to hear Roethlisberger also deny that he slowly but surely murdered a tree with a golf ball.
