Hall of Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin has always supported his Cowboys. However, after the departure of star running back DeMarco Murray to a division rival, the franchise legend said he has some major concerns.

And current Cowboys franchise wide receiver Dez Bryant feels the same way about letting Murray join the Eagles, Irvin said on Dallas radio station KRLD.

“I’m getting texts from Dez saying, ‘What are we doing? What is going on?’ It affects everything you do,” Irvin said. “They watch how hard (Murray) works. It takes a football family to win championships. The Cowboys had a football family on their way. Now, will that family still be intact is the question the Cowboys need to ask.”

After the Eagles officially signed Murray, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones issued a statement Thursday night, thanking his former running back for "his contributions to the Dallas Cowboys." Jones said if the NFL did not have a salary cap, Murray would still be a member of the Cowboys.

Murray was the NFL's Offensive Player of the Year last season after rushing for 1,845 yards and 13 touchdowns.

He holds no ill will toward the Cowboys but said it was "time to move on."
