Lions head coach Matt Patricia will keep special teams staff intact image

New Detroit Lions head coach Matt Patricia is keeping his special teams staff intact.

A source told Sporting News that special teams coach Joe Marciano and Devin Fitzimmons are being retained.

Marciano joined the Lions in 2015. His time as an NFL special teams coach dates to 1986, when he first broke into the league with New Orleans following a stint with the USFL’s Philadelphia Stars. He also has coached with Tampa Bay (1996 to 2001), Houston (2002 to 2013) and Minnesota.

Fitzsimmons has spent the past four seasons as Detroit’s assistant special teams coach.
