This is awful. #Texans RT Derek Newton has torn both patella tendons, @MikeGarafolo & I report, and there is more damage. As bad as can be.

Newton went down in the second quarter while pass blocking for quarterback Brock Osweiler. Newton, who missed his team's previous game against the Colts with an ankle injury, was attempting to block Von Miller when he was hurt. Both of Newton's legs were placed into air casts by medical staff before he was carted to the locker room.
Newton, a seventh-round draft pick in 2011, missed all of training camp and the preseason with a hamstring injury.
