Chargers rookie linebacker Denzel Perryman is an athletic freak. You would know this well if you had a chance to watch him play at Miami or just catched one of his bone-rattling hits on YouTube.

Over the weekend, Perryman's athletic exploits were on display at the Fox Sports San Diego Dodgeball Tournament, a charity event held held by teammate Corey Liuget.

As you can see in the video, Perryman dodged (twice), ducked, dipped and dove, evading balls and nailing opponents.

But there is one problem: Perryman is injured.

The second-round pick missed the team's first four OTAs with a minor hamstring injury and the Chargers brass isn't exactly thrilled that one of their defensive stalwarts of the future is competing in extracurricular activites while unable to compete on the field.

"It's been discussed," head coach Mike McCoy said, via the San Diego Union-Tribune. "That's all I'm going to say. I've discussed it with him. That's it. You've got to get past these tests here before you do all of that stuff."

The Chargers have made it very clear that they do not want their players — injured or not — competing in athletic events outside of football, according to the Union-Tribune.

"Yeah, (Denzel) needs to be chilling out on that dodgeball stuff," linebacker Donald Butler said via the Union-Tribune.

But if Perryman's dodgeball video is any indication, he is going to be fun to watch ... when healthy.
