DeAngelo Williams hits Twitter to dispute claim he's a lousy tipper image

DeAngelo Williams unleashed dozens of tweets Sunday and Monday after a waitress called him out on social media for being a bad tipper.

The bizarre saga began when the Steelers running back visited Ledo Restaurant in College Park, Md. Williams says there were multiple problems with his order, so he left the server a 75-cent tip.

According to TMZ.com, the server went on Facebook and called out Williams.

"Just now at work I had Deangelo Williams come in and I waited on while tending bar. His check was $128.25," she wrote. "He left me $129 with no tip but .75 cents. So there you go Stealers fans, your running back is cheap as s—t!!! Smh."

That turned out to be a really bad move. When Williams found out, he jumped on Twitter to tell his side of the story, and defend himself against Twitter users who called him cheap.

Those tweets are just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. Williams has (so far) sent out more than three dozen tweets on the issue, as he goes back and forth on the issues of customer service and tipping with workers in the food service industry.

By the way, the restaurant manager told TMZ he will fire the server for publicly calling out Williams.
