The Dallas Cowboys will be without both Dez Bryant and Tony Romo for the next month after the latter broke his collarbone against the Philadelphia Eagles.
A week after losing their top receiver - Bryant (broken foot) - for at least two months, the Cowboys saw starting quarterback Romo head to the change rooms early on Sunday.
Romo left Sunday's game against the Eagles midway through the third quarter after suffering a broken left collarbone, and the 35-year-old was heard saying, "it's broken," according to Fox Sports.
A report on the Cowboys' website revealed Romo's shoulder was X-rayed at the break, with the team indicating further evaluation will be needed before the injury can be fully diagnosed.
But Dallas' senior director of Media and Programming Derek Eagleton confirmed on Twitter that Romo has broken his collarbone.
Such an injury could see Romo miss eight weeks of the NFL season.
Brandon Weeden entered the game at quarterback for the Cowboys, who led 13-0 at the time of Romo's injury.
