The NFC stretch run is poised to be an exciting one, as the 49ers, Cowboys and Eagles are all tied atop the conference with just four weeks remaining in the regular season.

San Francisco, Dallas and Philadelphia have all posted 10-3 records through 14 weeks. Each will have a chance to battle for the No. 1 seed in the conference, with the 49ers currently holding the edge via their head-to-head wins over both the Cowboys and Eagles.

That isn't the only race for which representatives from each are vying. Each team's starting quarterback has attempted to state a case to be named the NFL MVP.

But after Week 14, Dak Prescott is officially favoured to win the award for the first time during the 2023 NFL season.

Prescott's Cowboys thoroughly flattened the Eagles on "Sunday Night Football" in Week 14, winning 33-13. Prescott put together another strong game amid a torrid stretch on which he has been to help Dallas stay alive in the NFC East and stake its claim to a potential top-two seed in the conference.

That performance gave Prescott the momentum to surge past 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy and further distance himself from Eagles QB Jalen Hurts in the MVP odds.

Here's what to know about Prescott's MVP odds and the NFL MVP race as it enters its stretch run.

Dak Prescott MVP odds

Prescott is presently favoured to win the NFL MVP award in 2023, according to the latest odds from Pointsbet

Prescott has odds of $3.00 to be named MVP. Those are easily his shortest odds of the season, and it marks the first time since all season that he is favoured to win the award.

Entering Week 14, Prescott's MVP odds were the second-shortest in the conference, trailing only Brock Purdy in that category, while Jalen Hurts wasn't too far behind him.

But now, Prescott has emerged as the slight favourite to take home the award. He will just need to continue to perform well the rest of the season to solidify his chances in what remains a wide-open field.

NFL MVP odds 2023

As mentioned, Prescott is the favourite to win the NFL MVP in 2023, but it isn't by much, with Purdy sitting just behind him on the market with Pointsbet.

Below is a look at the MVP race through Week 14 with all but the "Monday Night Football" games yet to be played.

Player Team Odds
Dak Prescott Cowboys $3.00
Brock Purdy 49ers $3.20
Lamar Jackson Ravens $6.50
Tyreek Hill Dolphins $9.00
Jalen Hurts Eagles $11
Tua Tagovailoa Dolphins $11
Christian McCaffrey 49ers $21
Patrick Mahomes Chiefs $26
Josh Allen Bills $26

Prescott and Purdy figure to go toe-to-toe over the rest of the 2023 NFL season to determine which quarterback has the best MVP case. The only question is about whether a non-quarterback like Tyreek Hill could challenge either if he continues on a record-breaking pace to log 2,000 receiving yards.

POWER RANKINGS: Where Cowboys, 49ers rank after convincing Week 14 wins

Dak Prescott stats vs. Eagles

Prescott bolstered his MVP case against the Eagles by putting together another strong statistical performance as a passer. He recorded multiple passing touchdowns for the seventh consecutive game (a stretch which has featured just two interceptions) and guided the Cowboys' offense with a steady hand throughout the contest.

Prescott completed 24 of 39 passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns. He also scrambled for 11 yards on three rushes and posted a rock-solid passer rating of 99.4.

These numbers may not be quite as prolific as some of Prescott's other recent performances; some will also be quick to note that he was sacked three times and lost a fumble that was returned for a touchdown.

Still, Prescott led the Cowboys to points on seven of his nine drives and helped the team earn a wire-to-wire victory over their 10-win rival. The impressive nature of that victory coupled with his more-than-respectable stats are what allowed him to leapfrog Purdy in the NFL MVP race, even if he is just leading the 49ers quarterback by a slim margin.

Dak Prescott stats 2023

Prescott has been, by most metrics, a top-five passer in the NFL this season. He leads the league in touchdown passes with 28 and is also the league's highest-graded quarterback according to Pro Football Focus.

Below is a full look at his stats for 2023 through 14 weeks.

Stat Total Rank
Comp. % 69.3 4th
Passing yards 3,505 3rd
Pass TDs 28 1st
INTs 6 T-24th
Yards per attempt 7.8 4th
Passer rating 107.5 2nd
QBR 74.6 2nd
PFF grade 92.2 1st

Prescott has also added 185 yards and two touchdowns on the ground in addition to being a top-five passer this season. So, he has as good as case as any to be named the NFL MVP, especially considering his rapid improvement in Mike McCarthy's West Coast offense.

Brock Purdy stats 2023

Of course, Purdy's stats are nothing to sneeze at either. He has led the league in passer rating wire-to-wire thus far in 2023 and has been just as prolific as Prescott with his passing numbers.

Below is a full look at Purdy's stats for 2023 through 14 weeks.

Stat Total Rank
Comp. % 70.2 1st
Passing yards 3,553 2nd
Pass TDs 25 2nd
INTs 7 T-19th
Yards per attempt 9.9 1st
Passer rating 116.9 1st
QBR 74.7 1st
PFF grade 83.6 11th

The case that many have made against Purdy is that he has an elite stable of weapons. After all, Christian McCaffrey is a top-10 MVP candidate while Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle are arguably the NFL's best trio of pass catchers.

But Purdy's elite efficiency and accuracy have played a major role in the 49ers' offensive success. And while his receivers may do a lot after the catch, he still has been able to get them the ball on time, in rhythm and with perfect placement to set up downfield, explosive plays.

So, Purdy's MVP case is a strong one. That will help to bring the 2023 MVP race down to the wire, and it could ultimately depend on which team earns the higher finish in the NFC.

Dak Prescott stats vs. Brock Purdy stats

Here's a look at how the two passers compare through 14 weeks of the 2023 NFL season.

Stat Dak Prescott Brock Purdy
Comp. % 69.3 70.2
Passing yards 3,505 3,553
Pass TDs 28 25
INTs 6 7
Yards per attempt 7.8 9.9
Passer rating 107.5 116.9
QBR 74.6 74.7
PFF grade 92.2 83.6

All told, these numbers are comparable, and most are close enough that either passer could overtake the other in each category with a big-time performance.

So, NFL fans should buckle up and get ready to enjoy what should be an exciting MVP race for the remainder of the 2023 NFL season.
