Coronavirus: NFL virtual offseason extended until at least May 29 image

The NFL has extended its virtual offseason programme until at least May 29, amid the coronavirus pandemic.

All 32 teams were sent a memo on Wednesday informing them the virtual period that was scheduled to end this Friday will run for at least another two weeks.

Even if a city where a franchise is located terminates its local stay-at-home orders, players, coaches and staff are forbidden from attending their team's facility.

There are no other changes to the way teams can function for the time being, as coaches can still hold Zoom meetings and classes with their players.

The memo did confirm that all offseason workout programs are to be concluded June 26, giving teams a break before their training camps are scheduled to open in July.
