First Jeremy Lane, now Cliff Avril.

The Seahawks defensive end will not return to Super Bowl XLIX after he was diagnosed with a concussion.

Avril and Patriots cornerback Brandon Bolden's helmets crashed together late in the third quarter, which resulted Avril walking off to the locker room.

The Madden rule prevents anyone with a concussion to leave the locker room. Even if the Seahawks win the game, Avril will not be allowed to come out onto the field and talk to the media.

Before the hit, Avril had two tackles for the Seahawks.
