Depending on who you believe, the Colts may or may not be interested in giving coach Chuck Pagano an extension.

Pagano is entering the final year of his contract, but he says he's not focused on an extension right now.

"Be where your feet are," Pagano wrote in a statement, according the Indianapolis Star. "What do I mean? Cancer taught me to be thankful for today. All I'm concentrating on is today. Then tomorrow. My focus right now is on the draft, bringing in players that can help us continue to grow, get better, and continue to 'Build the Monster.' I look forward to coaching the Colts this season and for many years to come."

NFL.com reported Thursday the team is not expected to offer him an extension before the season.

However, Dianna Marie Russini of NBC4 in Washington D.C. says there is more to the story.

Russini's report makes it sound like the Colts gave Pagano a low-ball offer, and he declined it in hopes of getting a long-term deal at the end of next season.

Since taking over as the Colts' head coach in 2012, Pagano's teams have gone 11-5 every season (he missed most of 2012 while battling with cancer, but the wins are still credited to him).

His team has increased a round every year in the playoffs and made it to the AFC Championship game last season.
