Christian Watson injury update: Packers star could miss multiple weeks with high-ankle sprain image

Just as QB Jordan Love was returning to the field from an injury, the Packers' offense had another player go down. WR Christian Watson left Sunday's game vs. the Vikings, who eventually held on for a 31-29 win, continuing their early-season success.

For Green Bay, Watson's injury will leave its receiving room looking thinner moving forward, as he reportedly has a high-ankle sprain.

Here's what to know about Watson's injury status vs. the Vikings in Week 4.

Christian Watson injury updates in Week 4 vs. Vikings

Watson sustained the injury during the team's Week 4 loss. After being deemed questionable to return, he was eventually ruled out for the rest of Week 4.

As Love looked his way on a pass early in the game vs. the Vikings, Watson was pulled to the ground. Love also threw an interception on the play.

Watson was carted off the field after the play. He dealt with various injury issues in the past, specifically with his hamstrings.

After the game, Packers head coach Matt LeFleur reportedly said he talked to Watson, who thought the injury was "just a sprain."

Testing reportedly confirmed Watson did not fracture his ankle. Instead, the receiver has a high-ankle sprain, and will likely miss multiple weeks with the injury, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Watson is reportedly a candidate to land on Injured Reserve due to the issue.

The receiver's status moving forward for the Packers is worth monitoring, as Green Bay faces the Rams in Week 5.
