Let's get in formation . . .
The Chiefs are nothing if not willing to push the envelope on offense. Whether it's Patrick Mahomes shuffle passes, Patrick Mahomes jump passes or some entirely different form of wizardry we haven't yet been able to identify, they certainly have a flair for creativity.
Kansas City unveiled a new page in their ever-expanding playbook Saturday against the Raiders in Las Vegas. Leading 24-3 and with the ball inside the Raiders' 10 in the second quarter, the Chiefs opted to line running back Jerick McKinnon behind center in a shotgun formation, and Mahomes behind McKinnon. Before they did all that, they decided to do a little twirling in the huddle.

The Las Vegas front seven looked stupefied, stuck in quicksand as it tried to gauge just what Andy Reid's squad was doing. Can you blame them?
The trickery nearly produced points for Kansas City: McKinnon pitched the ball to Mahomes, who then hit Kadarius Toney for a 9-yard score.
Unfortunately for KC, the play was called back after officials adjudged Creed Humphrey grabbed a hold of an opponent's jersey.

That Chiefs TD that didn't count with the dancing huddle was the dumbest best thing ever.
— Thad Brown (@thadbrown7) January 7, 2023
If anyone is still wondering if Andy Reid is a genius we just did a ring-a-roses dance huddle coming out of an opposition touch down. Then snapped it to the RB, who tossed it to the QB, who made the TD pass.
