Two years after joining the Eagles, Cary Williams is on his way out of town.

The veteran cornerback was released by the Eagles on Tuesday, the team announced .

The 30-year-old started all 32 games during his stint with the Eagles, coming up with five interceptions in that span.

The team, however, allowed the second-most passing yards (265 per game) in the NFL last season. Releasing Williams saves the Eagles $6.5 million against the cap for 2015.

Williams told 97.5 The Fanatic the team didn't approach him about restructuring his deal in order to keep him on the roster, but he didn't seem too upset about his release.
