All-Pro corner Patrick Peterson on QB Josh Rosen: 'I'm very, very impressed' image

If Patrick Peterson's first impression is any indication, Josh Rosen is going to be a star.

During his Monday appearance on "The Rich Eisen Show," the Cardinals cornerback gave Rosen a rave review and commended the quarterback's readiness upon his arrival.

"I'm very impressed," Peterson said. "To see [Rosen] make checks and get guys in line early, I was like, 'Has this guy been here before?' I was very, very impressed of his spring camp, minicamp, OTAs. He's just been extremely sharp."

Peterson's praise didn't stop there. He went on to discuss the rookie's maturity, which took Peterson by surprise given the criticism Rosen received ahead of the draft.

"Honestly since he's been with us, he's been the total opposite of what you hear from the media or you hear from outside people," Peterson added. "The way he's able to grasp the offense and get guys in line right now, I've been very, very impressed with that. As far as his throwing motion and his quarterback IQ and his pocket presence and all that stuff, it's off the charts. I've never seen a rookie come on a team and do some of the things he's doing."

Rosen, 21, was selected by Arizona with the No. 10 overall pick in April's draft. The former UCLA standout is still slated to serve as backup to veteran Sam Bradford, but will get the opportunity to compete for the starting job.
